The Payangadi Urban Co-Operative Bank established in 1985 aimed to promote the financial needs of the weaker section to the common people including industrial labor, agricultural laborers, small traders, salaried persons, etc in our area of operation. The area of operation of our bank is limited in Madai revenue Farka via ten grama panchayath, KADANNAPALLI-PANAPUZHA, CHERUTHAZHAM, KUNHIMANGALAM, EZHOME, MADAI, MATTOOL, CHERUKUNNU, KANNAPURAM, PAPPINISSERY AND KALYASSERY.

The bank commenced business on 02/04/1985. The bank was inaugurated by Chief Minister Sri. K. Karunakaran. Sri V V K Vengarawas the first chief promoter of the bank, was the first chairman of the bank till 30/06/1990. Then Sri M P Unnikrishnan was elected as the chairman and continuing.
